Diaphysis (Lower Limbs)

The diaphyseal implant is composed of two parts, which when coupled, interlock and offer stability in two perpendicular planes along the shaft of the long bone. These two parts are securely fastened by two bolts.

There are two types of implants for the diaphysis of the lower limbs, namely the minimum resection, which has a length of 113 mm and the long resection, which has a minimum length of 150 mm. Thereafter it accepts extensions at intervals of 5 mm.

When the long resection diaphyseal implant is required, it is recommended to place the non-extending part closer to the metaphysis.
